China Consumer 2023 is CBBC’s flagship consumer event of the year and will take place across two days – on the 4th and 5th of July in a central London venue.
The event is a must-attend for any ambitious British consumer brand looking to make its mark in China.
Day one of the event will feature a full day conference in which UK consumer brands can hear from leading experts on the China opportunity. Jam-packed with dynamic panel sessions as well as breakout workshops exploring topics ranging from China’s Metaverse to Chinese tourism and guides on how to set up in-market, the event offers an unrivalled opportunity for business networking and China strategy building.
We are delighted to welcome several high profile speakers to the conference this year, including key representatives from companies including Harrods, Diageo, Molton Brown, EY Fabernovel and Sybarite, amongst others.
Day Two of China Consumer 2023 is composed of an online Meet the China Partner session, through which British brands can identify and create relationships with new Chinese buyers in a cost-effective way and develop these connections until their next China visit. Following the session, CBBC will offer follow-up support and China market insights to build on the connections made.
This will be followed by CBBC’s Chinese Influencers Programme – a truly unique chance for UK consumer brands to hear from Chinese Key Opinion Consumers. The session will bring together 6 dynamic London-based Chinese influencers to participate in targeted focus groups discussing any questions a UK brand or hospitality business has in relation to consumer perceptions, new product or experience launches, packaging, trends, shopping behaviour, and more.
Over 120 Delegates attended CBBC’s China Consumer 2022 Conference in London on 28 June 2022.
Attendees heard from a line-up of expert hosts and speakers on the future of retail in China, and current and future trends in the consumer sector. The event was composed of dedicated panel discussions as well as tailored breakout sessions, and offered cutting-edge insights and actionable takeaways for UK consumer brands in attendance, no matter what stage they were at on their China journey.
“What a wonderful gathering with like-minded enthusiasts about China from British brands and institutions. We face similar challenges, but we also have a shared passion. China is not for the faint-hearted and it is not cheap to play the long-term game there. We must test and learn all the time, keep ourselves updated with insights and trends, and continuously refine how we do things.” – Joanna Zhou, China Manager, Holland & Barrett

The second day of the China Consumer 2022 programme took place on 30 June in CBBC’s London office and online, with British consumer brands offered a rare platform from which to meet with leading China buyers and Chinese influencers and student ambassadors.
UK Consumer brands interested in meeting some of China’s most successful retailers and distributors of UK consumer products joined the online session to meet and build relationships with four hand picked, pre-warmed buyers, with follow-up support from CBBC included post-event.
Participants in the Meet the Influencer session received valuable live feedback on their brand from nine dynamic London-based Chinese influencers and student ambassadors via an interactive session held in CBBC’s London office based in Westminster.
